Blocking illicit gambling in Denmark
In April, Denmark's gambling revenue rose 11.6% year over year to DKK665 million (€89 million/$103 million). This was due to development in the country's online casino business.

The figures from the regulator Spillemyndigheden showed that April's revenue was considerably higher than the DKK596 million it made in the same month last year. It also beat the DKK635 million from March of this year.

Online casinos brought in the most money from gambling, with DKK331 million, which is 21.4% more than in April 2024. This was also the largest monthly total since December of last year, when DKK347 million was reported.

Slots made up 78.9% of all online casino income, followed by blackjack at 6.6% and roulette at 6.4%. The rest of the money came from poker, bingo, and other activities.

Sports betting revenue also went up from one year to the next, climbing 6.1% to DKK207 million. 70.8% of this came via mobile betting, 15% from desktop computers, and 14.2% from betting establishments.

Land-based income is going down in Denmark.
In the land-based market, slot machines made the most money. The DKK93 million recorded in April, on the other hand, was 3.6% less than last year's total. 79.7% of the money made at gambling halls came from slot machines, while restaurant machines brought in the other 20.3%.

In Denmark, on the other hand, land-based casinos made DKK31 million, which is 2.5% less than last year. But this was the best monthly total for the market since last December, when it was DKK35 million.

The other DKK3 million came from land-based bingo, although there isn't any year-on-year data for this industry.

More than 60,000 people have signed up for ROFUS.
Spillemyndigheden also put out an update on the country's ROFUS national self-exclusion program.

Around 60,325 people had joined up for the project by the end of April. 78.3% of these people are men and 21.7% are women. 64.3% of all registrants chose to be permanently excluded.

In addition, StopSpillet, a service that helps those who are worried about their gambling habits, got 50 calls in April.
