Following up on its PFL partnership, BetMGM has partnered with Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, Washington Nationals, to expand the coverage of its sports betting app to include Washington, D.C. The deal makes it the only mobile sports betting app accessible at Nationals Park, the club's home field in the National League East Division.

The first-ever BetMGM Sportsbook connected to a stadium is also a part of the exclusive multi-year partnership agreement that MGM Resorts International (MGM:NYSE) and the MLB franchise signed back in January 2021. A retail book is scheduled to open at the baseball park in the nation's capital later this year.

Plans for growth:

Adam Greenblatt, the chief executive officer of BetMGM, said that the company's decision to launch in Washington, D.C. at Nationals Park "sets the stage for our plans to expand BetMGM within the region, as we've already seen great success in Virginia."

"The Washington Nationals have been a fantastic partner, committed to innovating the in-stadium fan experience, and we're looking forward to opening our retail sportsbook at the stadium later this year."

The sports betting and online gambling business wasted no time in making its BetMGM app accessible in Washington, D.C., which borders the states of Maryland and Virginia, and available for download on Android and iOS. Users must, however, stay within a two-block radius of Nationals Park when placing mobile bets due to regional regulations.

improved fan interaction:

Alan Gottlieb, the Chief Operating Officer for Lerner Sports Group, the principal owner of the Washington Nationals baseball team, also made some comments on the alliance.

With its cutting-edge entertainment offerings, BetMGM, our official sports betting partner, further improves the best in-venue fan experience in Washington, D.C. The CEO continues by saying that the BetMGM app will let their fans to interact with the game in "new and exciting ways," while the retail book attached to Nationals Park would offer Nationals fans and the D.C. community a "first-class gathering place to celebrate their passion for sports."

Additionally, the integration of BetMGM with MGM Resort's M life tier level-based Rewards programme enables supporters of the MLB team to exchange their sports betting app gameplay for "world-class experiences" at the American hospitality and entertainment company's properties across the U.S. These include Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Borgata in New Jersey, and MGM National Harbour, which is situated just across the Potomac River in Maryland and about a 9-minute drive from Nationa

Last but not least, MGM National Harbor's President and Chief Operating Officer, Jorge Perez, declared in the official news statement on June 10th, 2021...

"Today is a really exciting day for MGM National Harbour, which is a leader in providing monumental experiences. This is the first of several products we are creating to integrate sports and entertainment conveniently in the DMV, giving fans exceptional opportunity to engage with our top-notch resort and casino.

PFL partnership:

As previously indicated, the most recent information comes in the wake of BetMGM's June 9th revelation that it has collaborated with the Professional Fighters organisation (PFL), an American mixed martial arts organisation, under a contract designating it as a "US Authorised Gaming Operator of the PFL."
